Veil Cover Cream Review

This isn't my first delve into camouflage make up, I've previously tried Keromask and Dermablend. Veil Cover Cream is designed to cover things such as blemishes, dark circles, tattoos, acne, rosacea plus much more.

The main reason I wanted to try this was to see if it would help hide my hereditary dark circles. I've mentioned about my battle with this before on here. Highstreet concealers do cover them slightly but not as much as I'd like. I even recently invested in Benefit's 'industrial strength' Bo-ing concealer which was nothing special! I've been testing this out for two weeks now and here's how I got on..

The Veil Cover Cream Demonstration Kit* comes with 20 cream colours and a setting powder. Each shade is extremely pigmented and long-wearing. They are also supposed to be waterproof but I'm yet to test this out. The creamy formula makes these easy to blend without looking cakey. I do find you have to set it with a powder to keep it in place. The folder the cover creams come in isn't very compact. If I'm on the go and I don't want to take all the shades with me I can't really. I'd prefer it if the creams were attached with Velcro so they could be removed easily.

I've been using the shades 'Peach' and 'Natural' mostly to cover my under eye dark circles and they really do conceal them well. I wouldn't purchase this kit again but I would buy the individual cover cream pots. If you have any questions about this product, do not hesitate to ask!

Benefit Bo-ing Concealer Review

It's not often I splurge out on a highend product and when I do it's normally after wanting it for a year and reading 1000's of reviews. I'd read numourous good reviews of Boing concealer and i'm forever on the hunt for products to hide my hereditary dark circles so I decided to purchase this.

I like the simple, no fuss packaging. The solid concealer feels powdery at first but quickly warms up when using your fingers. I find this the best way to apply as it helps to blend. I've been trying this under my eyes and it does help to camouflage dark circles but not as much as I'd hoped. It's very similar to the Seventeen Phwoar Concealer which I normally use. I don't find this too cakey but it can tend to crease. The lightest shade (01) suits my skintone. I'd recommend this to those with minor dark circles and blemishes but avoid if you have dry skin and very dark circles!

For �17.50 you get 3g of product, which will last you a long time. Would I repurchasing again? No, I was kind of expecting it to be better for the price I paid. I'll be sticking to my highstreet duo of Seventeen Phwoar Paint and Collection Lasting Perfecion for now!

Highstreet Concealer Favourites + Swatches

Revlon Photoready Eye Primer + Brightener �9.99

I was expecting not to like this very much but anything claiming to brighten tired eyes? I'm on that. This is marketed as a brigthener and a primer. Pop it under your eyes to help conceal darkness or place on lids before applying eyeshadow. The consistency of this light and easy to blend so won't feel cakey or crease. I have the shade 003 and as you can tell from the swatches it is very pink. This makes it great for blue-ish dark circles but i feel you need to layer it with a normal concealer or foundation on top. I like this as a primer too as it does help eyeshadow stay on longer. The only downside to this is the price, a little steep for Revlon! 

Seventeen Phwoarr Paint Under Eye Concealer �5.49

A new product from Seventeen and possibly the first concealer pot from a highstreet brand? I'd heard so many good things about the Bobbi Brown concealer i couldn't wait to give this cheaper dupe a go. I went for the lighter shade which looks dark in the compact but blended nicely once on the skin. I use my ring finger to apply this and it covers my dark circles reasonably well. As i have particularly bad dark cirles i pop Collection Illuminating Touch concealer on top of this. I would suggest useing an eye cream before applying this to avoid it going cakey. 

Collection Lasting Perfection �4.19

How could i write a post on highstreet concealers and not mention this? I don't want to say to much about this as i feel everyone and their mum has already tried this but i like it, a lot. I think i'll go on re-purchasing this because of the price, the shades, the availabilty and more importantly the coverage. Two layers of this over blemishes and dark circles and i'm good to go. 

Collection Illuminating Touch �4.99

I've always wanted to try the iconic Touche Eclat but i've been eschewing it as it's way out of my budget. I opted to try this as a cheaper alternative. The consistency of this is quite thick, however it is thinner than the Lasting Perfection concealer and easier to blend. This is marketed as an illuminating concealer but i have to say it's not that illuminating. However i do like using this but may try the L'oreal Lumi Magique one next to see how it compares. 

Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer 10ml �7.99

I like the Healthy Mix foundation so i thought i'd give this a go. This provides medium coverage and slightly brightens without being overly shimmery. It can feel a little powedery after applying so i would avoid this if you suffer from very dry skin. I have shade 51 which is a good match for my pale skin. I like using this under my eyes or on any red blemishes. 

Maybelliene Fit Me �5.99

I picked up the lightest shade which is still  to dark for me so i'm saving this for the summer. This medium coverage concealer has an almost gel like texture which blends easily to a natural finish. I only use this under eyes as it helps to brighten tired skin and conceals them well. 

What are your concealer favourites? On my wishlist is the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer, Seventeen Staytime and L'oreal Lumi Magique - let me know if you've tried them!

Oooo have you seen that... new make up range at Tesco?

 I am the kind of daughter that hangs around the cosmetic isle's whilst her mum does the food shopping. So I was delighted to hear a new make up brand was going to launch at Tesco. VIVO has a whole range of products too tickle your fancy. Affordable and on-trend; this brand is definitely worth checking out on your next weekly shop. I was kindly sent some products to review,however my opinions are my own and as always, honest. 

Trio Eye shadow Palette �2.50

The pigmentation is quite good for it's price. They have a lovely range of colours & this neutral palette is my favourite. The double ended brush makes application easy. I used this to create a brown smoky eye & was happy with the end result! Will blog a picture soon ;)

Ultimate Base Concealer Kit �5

I love the highlighter that comes with this, will be using daily! For a review on this with some before and after pictures check out my previous post here. For a budget concealer this was okay, but I think I prefer the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection one. The highlighter is the highlight of this kit. 

Diamond Sparkle Lip Gloss �1.50

This come is a tube that you have to squeeze to get out product. It can get a little messy as you can see in the photograph! If you like lip glosses you will like this, the coverage is build-able and it leaves a nice sparkly sheen.

Overall, I like the wide range of products VIVO have. Although I haven't tried them I like the look of their baked eye shadows & blushers. They also do lipsticks for just �1.99! I'm always a bit vary of budget foundations, so I'm not sure if that would be a hit. But I am tempted to pop to Tesco to check out what other things they have to offer! What do you think of VIVO? x

How to get rid of those dark under eye circles forever!

I have tried everything - from teabags to teaspoons. Dark circles can so be depressing, and it's not a good look. I used to trawl the internet for cures and miracle products. I'm not 100% sure why I get them, but I think it might be heredity and I get hayfever to which probably adds to it. Even with 12 hours sleep they will still be there in the morning. 


So, I decided to hunt for the ultimate concealer. I tried and tested a whole range of products, which I really wanted to share with you. I understand that dark circles can knock your confidence so I really wanted to write this post. Even if this just helps one person, I wish I had read this 5 years ago! 


Natural Collection Cover-up Cream in Fair �1.99 2.5/5 
This is a great concealer if your on a budget. The coverage is light-medium & it covers up faint blemishes. I also found I needed to touch up during the day, It doesn't come in many shades too. But this concealer wont break the bank.


Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in Light 2 �4.19 3/5
I was a bit annoyed when the text rubbed of the packaging only after a few uses. I apply this using the wand to my dark circles, then leave it on for about 30 seconds, then dab it in with either my fingers or a cosmetic sponge. The coverage is medium & I found it had a sort of 'orangey' tint to the product; this would be good if your dark circles are blue. Blends nicely, would recommend if your blemishes aren't to bad. 
I've also tried the Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch concealer (�4.99), The coverage was lighter and it had a pink under tone. It would probably be quite nice on top of the Lasting Perfection. But I wouldn't buy it again.

 
Eyeko Touch and Go Concealer �5.00 0/5
I brought this a few years ago when it was new to Superdrug. The range looked nice so I decided to give their concealer a go. So disappointed. They only had one shade, which was a really unflattering dark orange colour. Didn't cover anything. Wouldn't recommend this product. The first and only thing I have tried of Eyeko's. 


Vivo Ultimate Base Concealer Kit �5 3/5 
New cosmetic brand exculsivliy to Tesco. I was given the oppitunity to try a few things from the range. With the palette you receive 2 different concealer shades, a setting powder,a highligher, doubled ended brush & a mirror. I would say the coverage is light-medium as it slightly covered my dark circles. This palette would suit you if you had fairly good skin anyway. I like the fact it comes with a powder, and the highlighter is a really nice products. Not bad value for money.

Keromask Camouflage Cream in No. 5 �14.99 6/5 (yes it's that good)
Wow. This product is amazing. I have been searching for that perfect concealer for years, and now my search has ended. Beautifully packaged products & good range of colours. Keromask comes in a 24 different shades. I opted for No.5, it's really difficult to choose the right colour for your skintone online & unfortunately the one I choose is too light for me! However, you can buy a sample kit which comes with mini versions of the product's for just �4.99. When I first applied it, I placed some on the back of my hand & then used a cosmetic sponge to dab under my eyes. The Coverage is full & a little bit goes a long way. I used the Mineral Rich Finishing Powder in Light (15.99) to set the cream. I don't rate the powder much, didn't really make the product last longer. Anyway I could ramble on about Keromask for ages.
